Rice Muffler dB Reduction

The Civic EX I just bought came with a rice muffler. It looks great, but it's loud, interfering with the music, and attracting attention I'd rather not have.

So, is there any way I can tone it down without restricting air flow or replacing the muffler?

I thought about stuffing it with fiberglass, but I don't think I can get an even layer around the perimeter - it's like building a ship in a bottle...

Thanks!

the principle of that is sound, except that the fiber used to fill mufflers is wrapped around a perforated section of pipe allowing "free flow", so just stuffing fiber in the tailpipe would just plug your muffler.

Two questions arise... 1 do you have a resonator still in the exhaust system, and 2 how large is the tip of this muffler.

If it's an N1 style muffler, you can buy inserts for the tip to make it quieter... and if you don't have a resonator, get one and have it put in.
