reverse
I own a 91 civic cx with a b16a in it.. new(rebuilt) drive shafts both sides... new wheel bearings and brakes.... new shift linkage and short shifter and polyeurathane shifter bushings..
when i'm in reverse my car makes a clicking noise.. many have said the driveshaft but i don't believe so because they are all new...
but heres the thing... when i'm in reverse... it makes it.. only in reverse.... if i go a bit quik in reverse and keep rolling backwards but stick it in nuetral (still rolling) it will stop....so only when its in the reverse gear
i'm guessing it could have something to do with the short shifter and possibly not going into reverse properly?
ne one had this prob before

my best guess, you have a chipped gear in reverse from someone jamming the tranny into reverse while rolling forward... and what you're hearing is the associated gear chatter. anyone else wanna take a stab at this?

I can't tell you to go out and buy a new tranny, you really do have to have it removed and inspected.
I'd start off by flushing the fluid out good if you haven't already. (Use 10W30 mineral oil for the flush, then refill with Honda MTF or GM Synchromech synth w/ friction modifiers)
