Resetting ECU?
#2
myth... your ecu has pre drawn maps... they will adjust according to what the sensors are reading... so if your sensors are working properly, then you should be alright... but, getting your ecu tuned by someone will offer the greatest benefits.

after every bolt on (even an intake install) I would definately recommend resetting the ecu. The ecu learns how your engine is running and a new bolt on can throw it off a bit. I didn't believe it either untill I fixed my vacuum leak.. it still ran a bit better but not great. So I resetting my ecu and it ran good.

they're are shops that will FLASH your ecu... if you have a high milage car or ecu out of a high milage car and your doing a swap.. id recommend doing this.. it resets the map settings on your ecu back to brand new im pretty sure... your car will run a bit better...... correct me if im wrong ppl or add to my statement, iv never done this

like iv said iv never done this yet, and where to get it done would be usefull to me as well...... all id do is call around ask a few ppl if they dont do it, then ask them where you can get it done..... if your anywhere near the cities you wont have a hard time..... the nearest city to me is barrie, and iv heard of ppl gettin it done in barrie...... so call around man.. and if you have any info as to what kind of shop does this.... let me know

well getting your ecu flashed is different than getting your ecu chipped. Our hondas (obd0 and obd1) get the ecus chipped to run a different program, for when you swap in a different engine and don't wanna get the apropriate ecu.
Flashing an ecu is when you reprogram it (not chip it) with special tools used at the dealership.
PM me if you want your obd0/obd1 ecu chipped.
