Replacing Reverse light switch on a GSR tranny

I have a GSR motor/tranny in my 95 hatch. My reverse lights aren't working. So I unplugged the connecter and checked for continuity with the tranny in reverse, no cont. Then I jumpered the other plug and the reverse lights came on. so I know the reverse light switch on the tranny is screwed.

It looks like all I have to do is unplug the switch then unscrew it, and screw in the new one. Now my question is, do I need to drain the tranny fluid before I pull out the switch? The Helms doesn't mention anything about draining the tranny fluid, but it does say to replace the washer. The reverse switch is on the bottom of the tranny and I want to make sure tranny fluid isn't going to come pouring out when I remove it.

Thanks for any help!

Matt

I wouldn't expect a lot of oil to come out, but I would have some MTF there to top off whatever spills.

Being at the bottom of the tranny I would expect either all of the oil will spill out or none. Oh well I guess I'll have a container handy when I pull it out and see what happens.
