replacing/installing brake and fuel lines...is it DIY?

Hi All:
Is replacing/installing brake and fuel lines a do-it-yourself type job, or is it best left to pros? What is the typical cost of such a job?

Thanks

BTW the car in question is a 97 Civic CX hatch.

Flaring, dealing with rust and suspension travel isn't all that easy and isnt for a novice.

But if you're confident with yourself then go for it.

Why the heck would you want to run all new fuel and brake lines anyways?

I always charge alot for brake lines at work because I dont really like doing them. Even for a small line that takes me 15 minutes i'll charge 1.0 for my time. So it depends where you go really..

The lines look pretty rusty and I am not sure if they will decide to break open under hard breaking this winter...so id rather be safe than sorry.
