Come on, Bruno... don't beat around the bush. Tell us what you really think.

If you decide to get an intake replace the filter immediately with a foam HKS or Greddy filter

yeah i have a cheap filter on it now that came with the intake, i went to clean it and though hmm let me feel the insde of the pipe sure enough there was dust/dirst in the pipe, thus getting in my engine, so i think i'm getting a foam filter soon, instead of paper...

paper is like OEM... best filtration, worst flow

HKS P-FLOW filters for example are foam.... but like a screen door for dirt...

there are three filter materials, paper (best filtration), foam (medium) and gauze (worst). gauze is K&N and every other el-cheapo filter out there.

just the filter element from HKS is $80USD

there is a green filter (forget the name) that is supposed to be nice..

as far as filters go, alot of the AC delco ones scored well on filtration, they had a big filter media test done that someone posted a link to, I think it was on a truck site.

Wow and I thought this whole time that K&N was a superior filter... Any suggestions on what is the ideal filter then for daily driving with the odd redline every week or so?

If K&N is acceptable then so is AEM and DC Sports as they are both made by K&N.

better off getting a good filter at the start cause spend 80 now instead of 1000 or 2000 on a new engine later you dont want to bore while you drive

^^** worst case senerio**^^

its not that k&n filters suck, but theyre not the best ... the only think that sets them apart and ahead of the game s their cleaning / oiling kits

the filters themselves are the same as ractive, dc, and so on its its just that you have to oil them, that is what stops more dirt / fine particles...

i just got a new ractive filter cause my other one sucked, so i got the ractive for 25 from 40, and purchased a k&n fileter management system which has cleaning solution and filter oil that i will use on my ractive filter... so for 40 total i got a ractive filer / k&n oil/cleaner... end result i have the same thing as buying a k&n filter but less money... k&n filters can cost you over 100... nutts, then you gotta still buy the oil/cleaner...

I thought Ractive filters were one use only... Aren't you not supposed to clean them? Anyone else know about this?
