Regarding the Jackson SC Civic with INTERCOOLER

This may sound dumb, but why would you use an intercooler on a supercharged car? Isn't the point of the intercooler to cool down the heated air created by the turbo? By having such a large intercooler blocking the radiator, wouldn't that just make the engine run hotter, and the SC run cooler(what's the ppoint seeing as how a SC rams nice cool air into the engine)?:smoker:

sinse when do sc have intercoolers i thought they used after coolers. After the intake but b4 the sc.

OK to straighten things out, specifically the Jackson supercharger. It draws in air from the throtle body compresses the air and "shoves" it into the engine (basic theory). The need for an intercooler or anything to cool the air is because when the supercharger is sucking in all that air, it might be "cold" at first but when it starts to compress it the charged air becomes hot. That means less O2 molecules which means less HP. With anything in between the charger and engine will allow the charged air to be cold when it is fed into the engine.

Now with the Vortech SC, it has an aftercooler which basically is like a turbo set up. The SC is before the TB not after like the JRSC. So the SC is sucking in the air and then is being cooled down by the aftercooler and then into the engine.

Here's a pic of JRSC working

Hope this clears things up.

JRSC doesn't have any accomodation for an intercooler I though. Maybe I'm out of date, but the only unit they never built with an intercooler was one with an E60 blower for Miatas. Even that's a prototype.

THey should consider a setup with air to air cooling, since I've heard horror stories of peep's blowing up their engines with 8psi or higher pullies and not using water injection.

I assumed the original post was talking about the custom intercoolers that people were making for the JRSC. These are the two that I know of right now.

Air to Air Front Mount:

Air to Water sandwiched:

To clarify, if you compress air you get heat.

SilverBullet... You need one of these;

It's an intercooler sandwiched between the manifold and supercharger.

yah i know but that particular one is for a GSR or H22 and the guy who did it had to remove A/C and power steering. I need those 2 :D

Neat, did know JRSC can be adapted to have an intercooler.
