Rear disc brake upgrade

We all know the 11" big brake upgrade for the front (ITR/Accord wagon calipers + Prelude VTEC rotors)
So how bout the rear?
Has anyone used Prelude 10 7/32" rear rotors on a Civic/Integra?
I'm guessing you'd have to get the proper caliper bracket for this to work or maybe modify the stock bracket.
It might be a little better than the 9 13/32" stock Civic/Integra rear rotor and help w/brake balance if you have the the 11" front upgrade.
Can this work? Anyone done it/tried it? Waste of time/money?

i'm pritty sure, it will cost a lot

if you want, my buddy EK Racer is selling his big rear disk brake upgrade

sohcnotec 14-Mar-2005 02:10 PM

Well, lemme know how much.
It's not something I NEED. But if I can do it myself at a reasonable price then I will.
The thing is I don't want a kit where you have to special order replacement parts n stuff.
I like the fact that I can just go down the street and pick up pads and rotors or a caliper, hose, cable, etc. for the poor mans 11" brake upgrade.
You see what I'm saying, right?

There are a few different kits available from FastBrakes, but you could even make your own if you know what is needed.

Use the Fastbrake site as a guide or check on H-T. There are threads on there about using NSX parts.

In a nutshell:

Calipers/Brackets:
ITR or Prelude VTEC 92-96 for sure, but I think up to '01 they are all the same, or Accord Wagon 91-96 I think(can't remember the correct years)
OR even Legend Coupe/GS sedan , NSX (91-96) 2 piston calipers work too w/ a little more modification to the bracket or something.

Pads:
ITR, Lude, Accord Wagon all share same pad.

Rotors:
92-96 Prelude VTEC redrilled to 4x100 pattern or VW Corrado G60 rotors (no drilling cuz it's alredy 4x100 and 11")

Master Cylinder:
Seems to be a shady area. Depends who you ask. Some say the 13/16 is fine, some say you need 15/16.

Rims:
Min. 15"

Steering Knuckle:
On HT some say you need the knuckle from a car that came w/10.2" brakes up front and some never mention anything at all. I don't think it's mentioned on the Fastbrakes site either. You may have to do some more research here.

That's about it I think.
