rear control arm help
 

Good day everyone.
Just have a question about the control arms in the rear of my 99 SiR coupe. I had it at the dealer lately and they said the bushings were gone in the back. also my tires are really cambered bad. any suggestions on up grades that will solve this issue. I know a camber kit will help but does the camber kit replace the lower control arm and bushing or should i upgrade both?

a camber kit always helps if your car is lowered...some people will say you dont need a camber kit unless you are way low (around 1.7" and further down on avg.) but i think if you can afford it, its not a bad idea to have a camber kit.

the bushings go bad all the time on our cars....mine are seized too..lol...you can get new bushings and have them installed in your existing LCAs (if u go this route..get polyurethane ones for best quality) OR...if the cost of all this looks high to you....you can get a new set of LCAs altogether...they go for around $150 and up.

1 of the bushings (inner one) cant be replaced, u would have to buy the hole arm cause it comes with it, just go buy a set of omnis or something, its cheaper then the OEM ones and they are performance!! lol thats what i did

Replace either the lca's or the affected bushings, go for the cheapest option. Also, for the camber issue check out this thread:

I did it on my '99 SiR and it worked great. I had to use 3 washers per bolt.

yeah, the washer trick is great... fixes the rear camber right up... and if you find an alignment shop that actually knows what they are doing, you can get rid of a little more of the camber, but more than likely you will need a camber kit in the front...

optionjdm happens to sell the omni power camber kit with the rear washer trick... its everything you need. i believe its $250 or something... pretty reasonable.

get a set of omni control arms instead of getting all new bushings torched and pressed out then pressed in...pain in the ass and labour is $$ just get aftermarket arms with new bushings.

i think ART motorsports in thronhill will do the bushings for $60 a side i think.
