Radiator coolant question

I will be flushing my radiator and putting in new coolant. I would like to know if it is ok to use tap water to mix with the new coolant, or do I need some kind of purified water for that? Thanks a lot guys!

NO!!! Honda pre-mixed coolant ONLY...

you ever see how much a new rad is?? $750 or thereabouts for a new OEM rad. If you want yours to last, you'll use Honda pre-mixed isth.

If you are stuck, you can use the YELLOW Prestone, not the long life ****... and use DISTILLED water either from a dehumidifier, or just buy a jug for like $1.67 at food basics or something.

Why is it so important that we use Honda pre-mixed coolant? What is so superior about them?

And why use the yellow Prestone, not the long life ones? I've seen green and orange (long life), but haven't seen yellow. Are they pre-mixed also?

Actually, how many litres do we need in our car?

Thanks tons!

Honda coolant is forumlated NOT to react with the components of our cooling systems. You'd have to be ignorant NOT to use Honda coolant.

yellow = green coolant  it's just concentrated isht and needs to be diluted 50/50.

long life is corrosive **** and will eat away at your aluminium cooling components, NOT TO MENTION YOUR BLOCK!!!

If you've never seen a pitted block, and wanna see one... go ahead and use whatever you want.

You need about 4 liters of coolant for our cars... if you spill any and need to top it off, you can use a little distilled water.

Thanks for all your help Bruno. I knew nothing about coolants and was just wondering why you recommend one over another. Now I'm much more clear on the subject, thanks man! :)

thats nice considering that my hayne's manual told me to do it with a water hose :)

in the helms it just mentions mix equal parts of water and coolant, doens't say distilled though I have read that on the prestone bottle.
