What you would guys say is louder, a simple Ractive muffler or a APC muffer?

Depends which model, and also what car is this going on? Will you be using stock Civic piping and stock header?

Custom piping is usually pretty loud by itself, regardless of muffler. I say go with the Ractive, I've got one and it works.

one of my friends friend told him that the 5Zigen and Ractive mufflers are made in the same company over here in N.A ...I dunno how true that is..but if it is...it's gotta suck for 5Zigen

Anyhow, I would chose Ractive like Jugglez said...IMO APC is even worse than Ractive in terms of reputation

I'll second the ractive.. stainless, nice sounding, and CHEAP! you could also check out Vibrant... My bro picked one up from Performance Improvements 143$ stainless, 5 year warranty.

haha Ractive does okay depending how you drive and how long you've had it. i had mine on for about a year. 5zigen fireball style. after that year i got a new exhaust and the guys @ brullen told me that all the fibres inside the exhaust were gone. it was a nice lookin pipe
LOUD as hell but that's just me, everyday driving with a heavy foot. i know some people with ractive and they are fine. never heard an APC exhaust in person.
