R-1 coils on stock shocks?

I am planning on getting r-1 coilovers on my stock shocks...but from what I have heard on these boards, people don't think it is a good idea. I was just wondering if that's true, and why it wouldn't be a good idea?
I am planning on having the coils on for maybe a year.
thanks

Sure you can put them on, but your gunna end up replacing shocks real fast (depending how low you go), my advice is save some money and get better shocks, and then install them.

Don't go lower than 2". They should last a while.

That was either for JUST the labour, or for JUST the coilover.....not both.

(unless they FELL off the back of a truck.....then maybe both.)

you are smoking somtin'.

The COILOVERS cost $100. Opps, my bad, I think they are now $115 for a set.

So I guess Bill is going to put them in for free? I don't think so. Call back and ask if the price they gave you was for the coilovers AND the install of them. They will say NO.

The price they gave you was EITHER for the INSTALL ONLY, or for the COILOVERS ONLY.

:edit: also, that price is only for the 88+ Civic coilover kit.
