a QUIET aftermaket exhaust?
not sure if anyone read my story a while back.
basically, i got pulled over few months ago cuz my exhaust was too loud. the result was over 600$ in various Tickets.
Last nite (Friday the 13th) i get pulled over again, and again I get another ticket for my exhaust being too loud. ( I also got a ticket cuz of the tinted licence plate covers. 105$)
so basically, im just sick of this. I want to change my exhaust over, to an aftermarket part, that isnt loud or big. I saw the spoon sports one that is roughly the same size as a stock muffler.
Can anyone recommend anything aftermarket that still remains silent?
thnx

i have the mugen style twin loop that cynikal referred to, and yes it is quiet. i also recommend Apex'i world sport
and one thing of advice..... contest the tickets.. there are actually very few mufflers that are illegal. see they just think its loud so its illegal, when actually it is by far nowhere near illegal. im not sure of the exact decibel limit (as it varies place to place) but i can say for each increase in decibel, the "loudness" doubles. so if you were to test the decibel levels of your muffler, and say it came out to 90 decibels, and the legal limit is 95 decibels, you didnt barely pass.... you are 32x under the decibel limit.
a few friends of mine, along with myself, went to our city hall to contest the rediculous amount of muffler tickets that had been given out. we proved with the decibel meter that our mufflers were in fact well under the legal limit.. and we proved that our local Harley Davidson club's bikes were actually closer to the limit than our cars..... and that no tickets were ever given to them, with the biker's testimony.
result: we donated the decibel meter to our police department, so that we could clear up any opinions the officers may have had. now when they give out the tickets (which has now become a rare site) we show up at the station the next day, take the test to prove we are legal, and we are on our way...

Some exhaust or muffler are reasonable are:
Mugen Twin Loop (like every1 says)
Apexi WSport muffler (somebody says)
Terminator muffler from Crappy Tire (Sounds reasonable but not too loud)
Genie Turbo muffler (Straight through design)
Tanabe (forgot which muffler tho.)
Good luck on the search and ticket.

so after lookin around,.. looks like the obvious choice is gonna be an OEM ITR Exhaust. Quiet, some performance and OEM reliability.
Anyone ever ride on one? comments? how much would I expect to pay for one?
thnx again everyone, you lot have helped me out alot

There was a post around here within the last 2 weeks. Iam telling you ask around about the dynomax super turbo. Its really quiet and will prolly be cheaper than an SIR or Type R exhaust. I had it on my car for acouple months and everyone thought it was stock.
