Lightbulb Quick Question D16Y7 Swap

Hi there ..

My original motor's head gasket blew last month and last week i bought a used motor ... from the same model car ..
1999 Civic EX ..

I am gona pull out the old motor today and put the 1 i bought in.. I was just wondering will i have 2 take the tranny out or just leave it in ? i am doin this for the first time with a friends help so just wana be sure abt some stuff ..

Anything else i should do that you guys suggest ?

Its a straight swap .. Old D16Y7 goes out .. new one comes in .. and it is not a JDM swap ..

Leme knw

Thanks

a lot less work to do if the tranny is left in the car.

But it's a lot easier to remove the full swap.. instead of fiddling aorund with the input shaft in a really tiny area.
