Hi

I have a 1995 Honda Civic LX. I am going to install my N1 GT SPEC performance muffler next week . THe concern is that i dont want the muffler to be too loud . Right now i have stock piping with DC Sports headers and a high flow cat. Although the muffler comes with removable silencer i dont personally like that look of it with the silencer. MY question is should i upgrade the piping after the cat to 2 1/4 . Will it be louder after the bigger piping? or should i just weld my muffler with stock piping and stock resonator. How can i minimize the loudness without the silencer on.

your "performance muffler" is most likely to be loud and have no performance gains...on your stock motor i suggest leaving it stock

who cares how loud it is... hahhaa, i am running a b18c1 with a test pipe and 2.5" ss tubing straight exhaust witha rsr gt2 muffler... thats ****ing loud man... it had a silencer on it... i pulled that out the first day i heard it in the high rpms and it sounded like ****... hahaha...

i used to have stock pipe with a muffler on it and it was pretty loud, but if you don't rip it all over its not that loud... just mainly at the higher rpms... i got by fine... if you go with bigger piping then it will be louder for sure...


and... don't get me wrong all... i have been pulled over many times... and received tickets... for the exhaust being loud... but... its a small sacrifice for an offensively loud exhaust... HAHAHAHA...

eventually all your tickets for excessive noise will be enough money for you to get something that's quiet and show performance gains...but it's your car, whatever you want=)
