Question about Warranty......

I bought my civic a year ago, comes with 3 yr bumper to bumper and 5 yr engine, transmission and suspension warranty.
Now I wanna lower my car. Someone said if I change anything about the suspension e.g. lowering spring, coilover, then the warranty will be void.
Anyone has any experiences about this?
please tell me...

it is subjective to the dealer you bring it to, if you put just springs and you blow a shock it will not be covered by warranty. and if you bottom your car out because of being to low and lets say you damage the exhaust it again will not be covered.
so you see if you change a factory part and the part you change has any ill affect on the car you will not be covered.

Usually how long can the stock shocks stand if I put the lowering spring on it?

They should last about a year or so but ive heard of people blowing them a lot faster than that. The person who installed the springs must have been an idiot....

the amount of labour is little compared to the price of new shocks.

pay for labour?? Mac struts are so easy to do... I'd do them for fun! except you'd need an alignment every time you did that.

either live with a voided warranty or don't mod. There is no third choice.

who needs warranty... if anything is broken, it need UPGRADING anyways

get a full set of coilovers.

damn...that's y I don't like new car....
the price drop fast and the stuff I wanna buy for my car usually cost me a lot coz they are new release.
You know how much for a coilover i asked for my car? over $1900 !!
I should buy a 2nd hand instead

I was talking about YOUR car in particular. I've done 5 Mac cars in the last 2 years... it's easy work. There are 5 bolts total per side on most of them. 3 on the upper mount, and two on the knuckle. Does it get any easier??
