Question about shocks/struts ??????

Can shocks/struts from a '99 civic SiR fit on a '91 Si hatch ???

What kind of differences are there between suspension of Honda civics from different generations ??

I met someone who did this before, he had to heat the springs to get them to fit. The ride wasn't any lower but it did ride ok. Not any better than stock though so i don't think this is worth doing.

I am not concerned about the springs so much, I was going to use my stock springs, or maybe get some H&R sports, but my shocks/struts are wearing out very quickly, thanks to the 401. I know someone who just replaced their stock 99 SiR shocks/struts with true coilovers and the stock ones are still assembled, it's just a matter of bolting them on. I was curious if the two different car shared the same connector hardware and so forth.

Thanks
