Question about Rotating tires

I didn't know whether this would be suitable for Performance/Suspension or exterior..but here goes..

Just a question..
I was about to rotate my tires (front two to back two and vice versa) tonight, but IF i were to do this, would the alignment mess up? Or is it fine just to rotate the tires without alignment?

Any advice or answers would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Rotating tires do not effect alignment. It might feel wierd if your tires are worn unevenly. And if they're directional tires, make sure they're on the right way.

yeah.. my summer ones are directional.... how the heck can you rotate them?? you can't do the whole back right tire goes to the front left thing cuz then they woulnd't be spinning the right way.... all you can do is back to front front to back..... is that enough?

sjwong: you can switch all you want it wont mess up your alignment but also cosider what slvr bullet said above.

ingiro: my rims are in another thread called "rims for sale" but i dont know how to place that lnk if someone knows how please do, but you can also do a search and find them. i am pretty sure they should fit. they are rail rims with hercules tires 16inch brand new rubber. there is a pic on my other thread

It's not enough but it will help.

I have/had directional tires (my 1st set) and they wore unevenly when I fist got my rims. But I rotated them every season and it helped somewhat. When I got a camber kit, my alignment was good but the "feel" while driving was wierd. You either do it right from the get go or learn to live with it.

about the directional tires, switching them from front to back is defintitely better than nothing. i've been doing it with my summer tires from day one and the are wearing pretty evenly (even though i have some negative camber on the front)

Another question --

How do you know whether or not you have directional tires? Does it say anywhere?
