question about header

i HAVE A B16A2 AND i think i have cat cams ,aem cam gears, omni power valve springs and retainers, pullys, aem CAI, removed ac and power stearing, and type r intkae mani and tb, lightening flywheel and stage 2 cluth. WIth a type r jdm header and 2.5 inch piping and high flow cat tuned with vafc 2. Im going obd 1, but my header now has a dent. Is my setup good for a toda header or will i loose power with it, and should i go to a jdm itr style header and 4 2 1 or 4 -1...

well your header isn't that great of one to begin.....toda = sweet but you can get better or equal for cheaper

so you have cat cams..??

ctr..?

if so you need better cams and more compression but whatever skunk pro 1's with chrome tune..??

look into rage headers...smsp, hytech

those are the good ones

2.5 isnt' too big, but if you want a cheapo header then atleast get the itr 4-1 with 2.5 collector

you need a good header and a good tune that afc is junk

keep your cat...or atleast get a high flow cat. it is illegal to drive on the street without one.

hytech makes a good n/a header for b series engines.

i had a vafc and yes, it sucks compared to some good tuning on crome.

2.5" ss exhaust should be fine as long as it is mandrel bent.

hytech header:

hytech header are friggin sexy

but if you're on a budget...

try something like a vibrant 4-2-1 SS 2.5" collector
or even the megan racing if you're really tight

they both make decent numbers... i believen its zeeman that had a good review on vibrant and its very satisfy...

megan racing is carry by teknotik (our affiliate)... he also has some dyno papers to proven the power gain...

talk to them... but of course... hytech is one shexy bitch hahaha

well, i can spemd about 500 ...thats what my budget allows...toda is too big i thought...that heahder is meant for motor with bigger displacement, like a 1.8 l.....but, what can 500 get me new and used....and, is a megan header better than the replica itr header both sold by tecknotic...if so, why is megan racing header cheaper......also, is the replica itr stainless better than an origional itr

just get the itr dc replica....or get a rage smsp hytech etc.....your build is mild so... you need more displacment and compression and cams and head work if you so seak power

Save the money and go with a quality header. Our SM racing fabrication header makes 11 whp in a built lsvtec over a jdm 2.5 collector header.

Dont buy the vibrant or meghan garbage. Save your money and buy something that will actually perform and be something your proud to show people.

Also take into consideration in our r&d, we have found that stock gsr manifolds make equal power a lot of the aftermarket headers out there if your running stock compression. You will not net many gains on any of these quality headers without a cr of at least 11:1. Our motor that we did the testing on was a 12.8:1 lsvtec with blox b cams (s2s2 copies). We were very impressed.

Remember one thing, your header is only as good as the glorified air pump that breaths into it.

the Vibrant 4-2-1 j spec is far from garbage. Zeeman is making very good power on his 16 with it, and, my boy is making 205whp on his 18C1 with the same header. there are better headers out there (RMF, nuff said) but the cost is dear. the one thing most people don't know is that a properly designed header will make massive amounts of tq & hp over most of the shelf headers (after tuning). as for people dissing the Toda piece, you need a lesson kids. the Toda 4-2-1 is hands down the best off shelf header in production, and its quailty is second to none. there are many 2L motors making 230-240whp with the Toda. and, isn't the Toda originally desined for a 1.6L? ummm, yeah. i must say in all honesty though, that a well designed street set up will make good power with most of the headers available. if ground clearance is not and issue and your on a budget, any jdm itr replica is good enough. tuning is the key.

Word, i wish i could afford a RMF/SMSP header but thats life. I've had good sucess with my $400 Vibrant j-spec 4-2-1 w/2.5" collector and would recommend it to anyone on any sort of budget.
