hey does anyone know ifmy stock shocks would be fine with the eibach prokit 1.5 drop ? b/cit sjust a small drop ...i'm just wondering if everything else stock in my suspension would be fine
advice from your pros would be great

u can probably get away with it for a while. some ppl get a couple months on the stock shocks, i got 3 days, lol. dont judge by my case because that is just bad luck. u should be able to get a couple of months if u dont drive too harshly

I got around 50,000k's of crappy Hamilton roads on my stock shocks and H&R Sports before they were replaced. Prokit isn't that low nor too stiff, so you should be ok until you decide to replace them. Astroboy had Koni Reds for $430 which is a steal.

judging by your name (1998civicsi) i'm guessing you car is a 98. So your shocks are like 7 years old already. When i put coilovers on my car (95 so at the time 9 year old shocks) the shocks were shot after about 6 months. I did however have my car lowered about 2.25-2.5".
You should be okay for a while with those springs, but some Koni reds, or Illuminas should be in mind for the future. You will get way better performance and ride quality with new, performance dampeners vs old, worn stock ones.

You can't change one aspect of the susp and leave everything else unchanged. Springs and shocks go together. I mean... you COULD, but it's a bad idea.

Save up and replace your stock shocks when installing the springs. You'll save money at the end or time if you do your own work.
That was the mistake I did on my old EF. I replaced everything 1 time with my new one (new suspension, spindles, struts, springs, control arms, etc) but you get the point.

I have stock si shocks with a prokit and they've been driving (not on my car currently but they're still being driven) for close to 3 years, and still no problems whatsoever...

it's not a huge drop and they're not too stiff you should be fine IMO, not the popular answer but it's my experience with them

thanks ppl....i mean.....with the prokit 1.5 drop....with stock shocks..improve handling abit??? i think it would be bettter then stock height. ..??!?!
also what are some good shocks that are decent price that i'm going to use on my daily driver!?!?! like konis and all that stuff sound good..but are $$$ right?helpPLEASE

We'll ya, a 1.5 drop is better than stock height of course, but is it worth it? I guess if your on a tight budget, then go for it (which is what I did with my 89 si a while back) . Car looked nice but performed like ***, the ride was horrible and I only dropped it like an inch and a 1.75- 2".

If your on a tight budget, take a look at some KYB or tokico shocks

If I had one thing to do, I would go with a pair of anti-roll bars instead of going with a drop.

But then again, yes you will be fine with a drop on those stock shocks.
