Exclamation Problem...

hey guys

i have a 97 civic CX hatchback

for the last week or so the pedal has been stiff and it kinda feels lyk its pushin back @at me i'm not sure what this could be...the car also doesent accelerate as well as it used to.

people sitting in the car don't notice it, but being the driver of the car it feels different

does anyone know what could be the problem?

the car has 212k on it and burns oil...i don't know if that helps or not

thanks for nay help

which pedal? there are three, gas, brake, clutch

and yes, as the driver you DO notice small things, and YES - you SHOULD attend to these small problems.

if it's the gas pedal, I'm guessing carbon buildup from burning oil. spray some throttle body cleaner down the t-body and see if it helps. other than that, check the condition of your throttle cable.

Did u check your carpet. Your carpet might get stuck near your gas pedal so when u try to accelerate it doesn't reach wide open throttle. Check that.

Along with spraying cleaner in the throttle body, just remove the air box tube leaving the throttle body open and just wipe the mouth of the throttle body with a rag with carb cleaner on it that will help
