Price on tire ?
 

I need new rubber and i have 15" rim and i am looking at fm901 or falken azenis or t1s what would u guys suggest?
and the price for each one
size 195/55/15 or 205/50/15

FM901 is cheap and good for the money if you don't race

T1S is way overpriced for what it is, but it is an exceptional tire

I ride the Azenis.... an exceptional tire in both wet and dry, especially considering the surprisingly low cost. I would have paid 2x that much to get that tire...

I've gone through a set of T1-s and feel they are worth every penny paid. As they get down to the last 2/32" they start to become noisy, but the rain traction never goes away and the dry is amazing. I did have a defective tire that Toyo would not warranty, saying that the car was the problem, however I have 8000km on a set of Bridgestone s-03's without any problems.

BTW, the s-03's are even better. They stop quicker, and I pull corners about 5km/hr faster than the t1-s's. They did feel a little squirmy for the first few hundred km. A little more money that the t1-s, but a slightly better tire (quieter too) with a thicker sidewall.

I did have a set of General ss595's on the car for 3 days between the two tires and have to say that these tires suck. They felt dangerous, and within one hour of having them I lost traction twice. Once on a 270 degree on-ramp, and once making a fast lane change on the highway. It was very scary and instantly placed a call to change over to the s-03. I got used to the level of performane the other two tires deliver.

On my other car, I have a set of 205/50-15 Toyo RA-1's. These tires were half the price of the T1-s, but are better in the dry, and better in the rain (until the tread pattern wears off). You'll end up going through a set in 10k, but you go through a cheap set of tires just as quick.

To give you an idea of the level of grip, the only time I've heard the RA-1's squeal was at 200 on the 401. I have never heard the s-03's or t1-s's squeal, except for hard braking. These three tires will also pull 270 degree onramps at over 85km/hr (could go faster, but won't test it), while the ss595's only pull 65km/hr before slipping.

I have no experience with the falkens, but with tires you get what you pay for. Both toyo tires are used for racing, and the bridgestsone are probably the best rated street tire.

In the end the tires are the rate determining step in maximizing the potential of your engines power, your braking ability, and your cornering ability. I will also give you a huge safety factor when other car do stupid and unexpected thing in your path.

I have used the RA1 and R032 and they do grip really good..
but you have to warm tire.....but those are R compound I am looking for something for the street not for track...

for street, not track, Kumho Ecsta 712 is a good enough tire :shrugs: or like a Dunlop Sport 9000

yeah those could work on the street if you want to replace tires every 1000 km's :p

A little off topic but I am looking for winters in 205 50 15 any sugestions?

Winter tires:

From what i've researched, alot of people recommended Bridgestone Blizzaks WS50. Apparently they are good for snow/ice and for severe weather. However, during the dry weather they suck ass and tend to wear quicker too. The rubber is composed of some multicell compound, tread designed in a zig-zag pattern for grip/traction in the worst conditions. Once the multicell rubber wears off (about 60% of the tread is composed of it) the tire becomes any oridinary winter tire.

Another winter tire that looks promising is the Toyo Observe G0-2 Plus....basically a copy of Blizzaks LM22 at half the cost. On paper overall a more balanced tire on dry/wet/snow/ice and treadwear was better than the WS50's. Personally, i'm going to test out the Toyo's and see how these fair this winter.

As for the T1-S' if your not planning to get them anytime soon, i would suggest you wait till around spring/summer times. There will definitely be several group buys going on for these amazing tires. Earlier this year i've seen them go for 400-460 a set. Seeing as how we've been forsaken with the **** weather i would hold off till next year.

for winter tires dont you want them thinner then wider?? so the tire sinks more into the snow?? i would think a 175 width winter tyre would be better then 205... thats how they do think in the wrc anyways

a thinner tire would cut through the snow easier. i used Observes last winter and did not get stuck once, even on the worst days of snowfall.

Yokohama Tires are also good. I got the T4's.

I like em. They grip really well and handle well in the rain.
