Power Slots

Power Slots
Hey, I need new brakes rotors and I was thinking about power slots.
Any advice? Formula Honda say that they increase your pad wear a lot more than cross drilled. I don't know why they would tho.
I'm getting suspicious cuz Formula's been trying to push these cross drilled brembos on me for $400 but I don't want to take them off in the winter and I don't want that stupid cracking with cross drilled.

If you're gonna do new rotors, I'd go with Brembo x-drilled. Elite auto out in scarboro has em for 220 (with brembo pads). this is for 2 fronts only (not sure if u have 4 wheel disc, if so, stick to stock on the back).
stay away from slotted cause they do cause increased pad wear. this is because they are designed like that. look at the grooves in slotted, they are made for auto-xing/track i think. they wear out faster so they hold better during hi pressure usage. but at the track u wanna stop and don't care if u go thru a set of pads in a day.

Not to plug them but Formula quoted me:
Brembo cross drilled are $90x2 for the front, and $110x2 for
the rear. All plus applicable taxes.
I wouldn't mind the Brembos but I hear they crack in the winter time.
Don't want that.
What makes the slots wear the pads down quicker?

Elite is at Midland and Silver Star drive (the old one). If you know where KS-R or Speedtech are, you'll know this place. It's right on Midland.
hopefully see ya at a meet some time!

You will see very little, if any, increase in stopping power with slotted rotors. Most people do not get their brakes hot enough to even experience brake fade with the stock brakes.
If you're after slotted/drilled rotors for looks, then it's a different story.

i recently got new brakes. pending your not actually racing on the track just go to canadian tire. they always have deals on install. and you get a lifetime warenty on the pads. so for like $300 max you never have to pay for pads again.

Pads are designed to be worn down, and sometimes you might want a softer pad depending on what your application is.
If your brake pads aren't wearing down because you got these super strong brake pads that have a lifetime warranty, what do you think is wearing down instead?
You have friction and heat, something is taking some pain.
expect to machine or replace your rotors...

echien - I just got my PowerSlot rotors with AEM pads installed today.
I decided to go slotted instead of cross-drilled, slotted is for more daily driven cars.
Cross-drilled rotors tend to weaken the rotor, and powerslots don't rust like brembo's.
If you're deciding on slotted rotors, try PowerSlots
