plugs for b16?
what kind of plugs should i run in my b16a2?
|
ngk v-power (copper core)...the cheap ones.
BKR6E BKR6E-N11 Either of these plugs are what you need.....gap them to about .044 |
Agreed I use BKR6E-N11 or Stock plugs from Honda that come pre-gapped

alright thanks. just a quick question for you tho. isnt that plug a really hot plug? i'm just learning about civics and all but i know bikes usually use a colder plug. just a question. i guess the b16's liek the hotter plug?

I'm using NGK BKR6EIX-11, they're iridium tipped, and the gap should be 0.051" or 0.052" for a B16 (according to helms). They're pretty good, I noticed a big difference in smoothness when I changed my plugs.... yeah, my old plugs were pretty warn though.... the iridium stuff is more expensive than the platinum though
Edit: Oh yeah, make sure you DON'T gap plugs that have thin tips, like the thin platinum or iridium.... you can gap copper plugs though |
i wouldn't really use a colder plug in a stock b16.
But b16s come stock with BKR6E-N11's. I use BKR7E in my car (higher compression b16). And have used the 8's and 9's in some turbo cars i've tuned (higher boost levels), but i still use the copper cores. I, along with many other tuners i know, prefer the copper cores. |
im using the platium ones.

how do u gap the plugs???
|
with a spark plug gapping tool
and sometimes my special tarmack tool :hide: |
im using the 7 ngk platium. im running 12.5 copression or a little higher.
