Please Read...Got a Problem!!!
I own a 1992 Honda Civic H/B, I've done regular maintenance to it and its in pretty good condition. However, I was driving on the 401 and as I drive going about 120 kph my car starts to rattle and shake. So, I pulled over at a gas station and checked if my tires were low on air but, they were good, so, I assumed it was the balancing of the tires. So, I decide to go back onto the highway and now when I accelarate anywhere past 2500 rpm my car started to shake and rattle again. After cruising at 110 on the highway, i press the gas and it sounds like I have a flat tire on the drivers side wheel (sounds like a vibration coming from the tires) but its not flat. My question to you guys is whats the problem? Its quite annoying driving with the rattle and vibrations. Maybe ball joints, CVs, alignment...i don't have a clue.... Can anyone help me out

i know it's wamer now but could it be another snow in the rim incident again?
|
i thought about that originally too..
just seemed really odd that i would only do it at certain rpm's and up.. def. check that out EZ.. other things might be that you lost a weight, CV or BJ maybe.. if it's not a snow job in your rim or wheel well, you'll have to get it in somewhere and up on a hoist.. |
I think it might be the alignment...
Definitely get it checked out like Marty has suggested. |
I'm likely going to the mechanics tomorrow, but any other thoughts?

loose wheel nuts??
|
yea check the wheel nuts, I had a similar problem when i was driving down to my dentist, the right front wheel would make this crazy rubbing sound, and the car would vibrate a bit, turned out the wheel bolts had gotten loose and made the wheel slide around at low rpm.

ya , might be wheel locks, i had that problem to
