plastic covering for cam gear/belt. Help
 
well the plastic covering for the cam gear and timing belt is broken(behind the cam gear) and its hitting against the two, can i just take this off or does it need to be there, cuz i cant get the part today and i need to start work monday, so it will just be temperary.

i don't have part # 3 on my car at all its been like that for a year now and i haven't had a problem

d16a6 engine? its not needed, the only thing on there is the TDC pointer for the camshaft

yo alot of ppl with zc's run without one so that the hood clears the engine, and ive personally had no problems

you can use the top of the head (where valve cover sits) as the reference point when doing a valve lash adjustment... don't necessarily need the arrows on the cover for that...

...also ... use crank pulley marks for TDC if you're not sure....
