seriously though RAM is dirt cheap, invest in some, you'll save yourself some headache...

I don't know about DOHC covers but for a SOHC you unscrew the 3-4 bolts on top and gently take the cover off. You'll need a new valve cover gasket and some sealant when re-installing it. Degrease the **** outta the valve cover inside and out and sand it down if you want a smooth finish. Paint it, let it dry and re-install.
