Performance Question

Well it's that time. I have to give my car a major tune up. I bought my car about 2 months ago and I don't think I really need it but I'll do it just in case. I was wondering if it was worth getting platinum spark plugs, 10mm spark plugs wires and a performance distributor cap. If so, any recommendations?

I doubt that neither of the 3 will give you any gains unless your existing ones are in bad condition.

Sparkplugs are worth the investment because you prolong the maintenance interval.

Try to stay with factory ignition components unless your really pumping out some serious power. That cash you save can go to some real mods when your ready.

Definitely Agree with BB1.

Just go with factory things. Jugglez could probably give you a big list of things to do during a major tune up if you ask him nicely.
I had my tune up done bout a month ago, I just changed the spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor. Runs like new again.

Oh ya, forgot to mention oil, filter, transmission fluid, and coolant as well.

Tune ups are a waste of money, just buy a new car.

Post tune up

How many K's are on your ride? I usually do a major tune up every 48,000km. As for plugs I'd put platinums b/c it prolongs the service period to change them.

My car has 150, 000k's on it. So I guess I'll use stock components and platinum spark plugs.
