Smile PCV Valve Location -- Pictures please?

Hi all, could somebody please post a picture showing the location of the PCV valve on a 1998 Civic Si? I would like to replace mine but I can't find it under the hood, so your help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

don't have pictures, but it by function MUST be between your valve cover and your intake manifold. Maybe it got replaced by a breather on your car? It's a pretty thick tube with an elbow on it... hard to describe.

I know on mine (5th gen) it is behind the valve cover and just below the injectors on the right hand side when you are at the front of the car facing the engine.

Understand?

Unlike the 5th gen Civics, its actually on the underside of the intake manifold from what I remember. Not so easy to replace. Sorry no pics though.

on 6th gen Si (D16Y8) it should be located in the same place as the older 5th gen D-series.

on the intake manifold there is a large hose running from the front of it, near the top. follow this hose to the engine and that's where the PCV valve is.

I can see there's a tube going towards the intake manifold, but it goes *through* an opening through the intake manifold. Is that what you are talking about? If so, how could I reach down to the PCV valve, which is "buried" inside the intake manifold? Thanks!

Since I don't have a scanner this is the best I could do.

It's pretty large so you can read what it says.

Thanks a lot Slvr-Bullet, I suppose my engine for the 1998 Civic Si corresponds to the D16Y5/D16Y8 illustration on the page that you scanned. The location of the PCV valve as shown is exactly where I suspected it to be, which means I cannot get hold of it because it's "buried" inside the intake manifold! Do I have to go from underneath the car in order the replace the valve? Or is it safe to pull the thing up? Thanks again!

So this pretty much means it's impossible to change the PCV valve without going underneath the car, right?

so that is breathes better, there is a little ball or something in it , when u buy a new one and shake it you will hear it move nicely

an old used one , it will not move when u shake it , because it will
be clogged with oil etc....
