passenger side axle siezes when hub bolt tightened!

hey guys,

i recently swapped a b16a into my 91 civic. I pulled the motor out of a running 91 civic so all the parts are there...but when i put the passenger side axle into the new body the rotor siezes when i tighten the hub bolt.

I figured for some reason the axle was different, so i replaced the axle with a 1990 teg axle, which fit, but i'm haveing the exact same issue.

Anyone have any ideas? can the hub have something to do with it? The rotor spins fine until the bolt is tightened...any suggestions would be great.

Thanks
Sam

so what you are saying is that the brake rotor won't turn after you tighten the big not on the end of the cv joint? But only on the passenger side?

few more simply questions for you: Is the car in gear? Is the drivers side wheel on the ground when you are doing this?

Its definatley a dust sheild without a doubt, it caused me the same problems when I did the swap on my 1991, Cynikal was the one who told me to remove the dust shields from both hubs and he was right, it fixes the problem.

no, the wheel (rotor), spins fine until the bolt is tightened....if the car was in gear, or the wheel was on the ground it wouldn't spin from the get go....i'm going to check the inner part of the hub now to see if there is a dust cover i can remove...

thanks guys, that worked like a charm!!

now i'm gonna have to deal with eveyhing else...the ecu is flashing 4 times, think that means crank sensor, i'm leaking coolant from somewhere, and the exhaust manifold is smoking...

well the exhaust manifold is smoking from either some paint that was sprayed on it that is now burning off or oil from your hands, should stop soon enuff.
