Pass E test with no cat?
Can t be done? The header im installing, I will have to take out my stock cat. Is there some additives I can use to pass the etest just for the test? Or anythign I can do to pass it.

I should qualify this by saying it may not hapen very often. Even if the car is running nicely, like mine was, cars will usually fail the visual inspection the e-test is supposed to do. If he/she doesn't see a cat - they will not test.
It just so happens my guy was lazy.

Dan, do they do a thorough inspection of the cat? Or If I took my cat apart and put the outside of it over the pipe so it looked like I had one you think I would get away with it?

Or you could plead ignorance if found....

I was pretty suprised myself.
The masing part was not only did it pass - it passed with flying colors.
From the lips of hte e-tester:
As the test is being run, the system takes readings. It continues to take readings for a predetrmined amount of time or until it has met some degree of tolerance. When my car was being test, the system ended the test early. The etester said that the car was running so well that the system did not require the full length of time to make and accurate judgement on the toxins in the exhaust.
I just laughed...gotta love Honda motors.

Well the pic of the cat on the header that I was looking at wasn't the right pic for my car, so the one I got will fit up to my stock cat np.
