Post Parking Brake Light

Lately, while driving my parking brake light will turn on for about 6 or 9 seconds then disappear. Any thoughts as to why it is doing this?

could be a sign of something wrong with the brakes. There isn't a separate light for the brakes.

You are talking about the light on your cluster right?

You most likely have a contact issue at the parking brake handle. You need to open up your parking handle area and check the contact. While it's open, test it and see if the light comes on and goes off properly. check for brakes in the wires,etc...

Also check your brake fluid level, there is a sensor in the resevoir such that when the fluid is low, it turns the light on.

If your brake fluid is low you might want to get the brake system checked out. Brake fluid just doesn't disappear.

Doesnt it evaporate over time?

NO, your brake fluid does not evaporate the level may change over time, due to your pads wearing down but other then that, no.
