Parking Brake Light

I was driving around today, when on my way home my parking brake came on. I thought it may be something bad, but I thought the engine light would have came on. I don't know what this could be as I made sure the parking brake was off numerous times, any advice on what it may be? Oh its a 91 DX btw, if it makes a difference.

th parking brake light on nissan cars means that your rear brakes need to be replaced. check your rear brake shoes.
that could be the problem but do not quote me on it

low level of brake fluid will cause it to come on...check that out first, its prolly the problem

low brake fluid, most times if its that low, you have a leak somewhere, check the rear wheel cylenders.
