pads done at Speedy
just had new pads put on my wife's 98 Civic EX at Speedy in T.O. Just a question for you.. I was charged $25 for a "caliper adjustment"....what the hell is this??? The mechanic said that when you replace the pads, you need to also adjust the calipers..
They also wanted to charge me to clean the rear brakes which I made them do for free...hey, all they did was spray them with some liquid..
Anyways, thanks for your help.

wtf is a caliper adjustment??
lets see..
remove caliper..
compress pistons..
replace pads..
replace caliper..
where's this adjustment come into play??
hmmmmm..me smell fish (week old, stinky fish too..)
give their HO a call and ask them to describe this procedure to you..
if what they're describing is the compression of the pistons tell them next time they can do it w/o the "adjustment"..let's see them get them back on then..part of the job imo..(and a half decent sized C-clamp does a beauty job of this as well)

Now if it was for a set of rear calipers I could see that ir needs to be realigned.
The rear caliper pistons, unlike the fronts require to be rotated so that it aligns with the pad, but the tool to do that also only cost a few bucks.
There isn't much adjustment you can do to brakes, it's not like there is an adjustment screw.
