overheating on highway

I just did a coolant flush this weekend. and I drove on the highway for about 30 minutes and the temp gauge went to to 3/4 and I turned on the heat to full blast and it dropped to 1/2, city driving no problem. I added some leak stop solution (shouldn't done it in the first place....I thought my car is older so it wouldn't hurt).

what do you guys think? I did some search on the web and it is an indication of poor flow in the system properly due to the addictive?I think.....I am thinking flushing it again without any addictive.

Please give any idea or opinion.

it could be any number of things, from an ineffective rad, to a poor waterpump, to just not having filled the system properly. make sure the system is bled correctly.

Did you replace your themostat when you did a coolant flush?

I would flush it again and not use the leak stop solution. If your car is leaking coolant fix the problem the right way.

no I did not replace the themostat. I don't have any leak now and before. This is a problem only after I did the flush....

Anyway....thanks for everyone input

I totally had the same problem before the other day. The temps will be fine in city driving but when on the highway they will climb. What condition is your rad in? I replaced mine and the sympoms you are describing went away.
