Outer CV Boot

Hey guy's to replace my outer CV boot and front shock bushings!
What impact does my front shock bushing have on the drivability of the car? And where is a good place to go and what is the cost that i can expect for replacing the above parts? Is it better to get the entire drive shaft replaced?

Its easier to just replace the whole axle rather then the boot. More often than not, the joint is damaged, and instead of messing around with it, just throw on a new axle.

Shock bushings are easy as well, but if you rather want a shop to do it, post up your location first.

Thanks, any idea on costs...and you said you replaced your boot why not the entire shaft....?

What impact do worn shock bushing have on my car

imported_94EG6HB 25-Nov-2003 10:27 AM

Because I tore the boot the day before..

My car sat in the garage until the next day when it was brought directly the shop.

If you have a torn boot and continuously drive on it you run the risk bigger problems down the road.

Worn bushings cause you car to roll...

:D

imported_94EG6HB 25-Nov-2003 10:28 AM

A lot of body roll to be exact.

yes bushings should be replaced every 200,000 kms whether they need to be or not

buy a boot repair kit from NAPA!!

don't buy that crappy tire junk..

If the boot wasn't that bad then the joint is probably still good.. not worth spending $150 on a new shaft when a boot kit is like $20.
