the arc filters blow major *****. i read somewhere where there was a design flaw in the whale *****. if you're into road racing then get the sri since the response is faster. the aem v2 is one of the best CAIs that offer the best gains.

AEM V2 is garbage. its one of the only aftermarket intakes on the market that makes less hp & tq in the low-midrange than an oem 2" rubber intake pipe with oem box and filter for a few thousand rpm. the only off-shelf intake that makes power time and time again is the AEM ITR 3" CAI. not the LS (2.5"), Si-R or GS-R (2.75"), the 3" AEM V1. V2 is one of the best sounding intakes on the market, but its performance is sub-par to say the least.

find the cheapest short ram intake with a k&n style filter and be done with it. they are all the same and no intake gives you more hp then any other. i dont know why this thread has to be so long.

Just look for a jdm oem black rubber intake. It makes the same or more than aem. Its also a 3" from a jdm sir. The whale ***** you talking about is the J's racing replica. J's racing is the same but better cause of the material they use and the thickness of it, so less heat is absorbed compared to the password jdm one. Or jus look for a aem used one in EBAY, and you should be able to find one for no more than $50.
