if i want to ahve a nice noise,
some notice of increase in power or torque
economical cost
easy install and local purchase

what woudl you recomment?

AEM SRI, or any SRI but make sure you get good filter.

-intake will give you more noise
-hp/tq increase on ur d motor wont be noticible
-they can range from 20 - 200
- all intakes are fairly easy to install

imported_blk98cx 22-May-2006 09:15 AM

i agree with 95civic_hb....you wont feel any increase on power...any intake will give you a little noise but i think any cold air will be louder than short ram or the other way around! aem is a good brand!! but for me i think they all do the same!!!

projecteg 22-May-2006 01:15 PM

if you want a better noise... just take the snorkel off of your intake.. just leave the box right by the manifold... it's a gangsta way of having an intake. and makes me laugh because i have a craptacular 1.6 and would NEVER put ANY money into that motor.

it is for pure comical value.

imported_crazydragonclk 22-May-2006 03:04 PM

i have a coupe, but im looking for s short ram intake right not those long ones that go down into the bumper

I infact actually have this intake on my car.
When it was put on it was dynoed right after and it did make a 5hp gain. Mind you its on a B18C1.. C5 Head.. it does gives the motor a nice deep tone.

The only downside... its a big eyesore in your motor :P

imported_mikepasini 24-May-2006 12:05 PM

yeah, that intake gives your motor a nice throaty tone... it sounds nice... and i have been doing searches and there is nothing but positive reviews on it.

imported_t_dot_SiR 24-May-2006 10:20 PM

IMO, a good air filter is more important than the pipe itself unless your you're going for a built up motor that requires more air to combust with more fuel... then yes, a larger and free flow pipe is better, otherwise, a good air filter will do the job

an expensive pipe is easte of money because it doesn't really give you more power but noise and rice level

imported_Simich 24-May-2006 10:46 PM

And intake isn't noticable on any car power wise, it's just benificial in terms of air quality. A good way to go about it is to remove your airbox and noice reduction box and then just clamp a cone filter on the plastic air hose and get it secured.

it wouldnt make sense to dyno your car after u put an intake on ... unless u put the intake on when u did a swap, otherwise it would be a waste of money ... lol ...

imported_Team Rukus 25-May-2006 12:15 AM

no intake will give you claimed power without tuning it.
simple as that.

Bryce 25-May-2006 02:38 AM

Hondata 100
