Wink Okay this might sound dumb...

But... I want to put a good engine in my car... its a little slow right now and today I drove my husbands car an he has an SI engine and you could tell the difference.

Is that a good one to put in.?? Like I dont need it super fast... cause I don't really drive fast... but I want it to have some pep, know what I mean... like I want it to be able to go fast if i need it to go fast

Anyone have any idea's or help for me???

I also don't want an expensive engine like turbo or something lol!!

u can prolly get an si for that but i dont see the point, its not worth the money. Id atleast get a ZC which can be had for around 800ish, which is an older integra engine

D series tuning. Get a Z6/Y8 (5th gen Si, or 6th gen Si) complete set up. That's one option.

The second, just get a Y8 transmission and use the shorter final drive to your advantage.

Both could be done for 400 dollars, I believe. Well the transmission should not be more than that for sure.

firstly USE THE SEARCH FEATURE!!!! this topic has been covered a million and a half times.

i'm scared....

a cheap reliable, motor for the EF is the LS from the acura integra but it's not a direct swap... takes engine mounts and other various odds and ends (MPFI) an si motor (every gen the si has a different engine) better known around EF's as a d16a6 is readily available for the price you are looking for and is a direct bolt in, BUT, your car has this **** called DPFI and to take real advantage of the si motor you NEED to convert it to MPFI.

there is another route you can go with and it's swapping a vtec head from a newer d16y8 onto your existing block (assuming it's in good shape), research doing a MINI-ME swap and see if it's feasable for you... but again this still needs the MPFI swap to harness all the potential. and is about the same price as an si motor

pm me for more info

wrong the ZC is NOT an older in tegra engine, the teggy motor is similar (weaker) and is a d16z6
the ZC is the JDM si (EF3) motor. still cheapest do to is a minime or full y8 swap...

the 90-91 SI ecu (careful with the 88-89 most are internal eeprom) can be programmed to run most any engine you will throw in there, just ask me i'll chip it with the program you need for dirt cheap, just pm me if you need it..

BUT the first thing you need to look at before you do ANYTHING is look up a DPFI to MPFI swap this is crucial if oyu want to make any power... otherwise you are wasting your time

i swapped in a D16Z6 and it has a lot of 'pep' (could always use more!) but for the price it is an easy, cheap and fairly reliable swap. thats my 2 cents
