Ok guys a bit more help regarding coilovers
Well, I was on the net reading reviews...from what I got out of it....Skunk2's and Ground Control coilovers run the risk of making some crazy noize, and being mad bouncy...
Im really thinking of going for TEIN's...... my question now, which complete coilover kits (including shocks) are best for a good price...like I want a nice smooth ride, the lowered look, but the convience of raising my ride in the winter... are TEIN's the only way to go, and if so which model....or is there any other full kits out there, that are of good quality and don't make a bunch of noize........I don't wanna spend crazy loot on this.......Im willing to pay a good price for good quality though... thank a lot guys for the friendly help.....I use to roam around the IS300.net forum and those guys would jump down somebody's throat for asking questions.......lol...... hummm....i'm using Skunk2's and they don't make any noise..?
they're actually pretty good... and as for the shocks i'm picking up koni reds.... TIEN are good from what i heard but it cost $$$$ but if you got the $$$'s then i say 'go for the tiens' |
Teins are not exactly winter weather material... they might seize up, and then you got a $2200 pile of garbage stuck to the susp of your car... these are fair weather parts my friend. Why not swap back and forth... if you get a complete coilover, the swap is a 1 hour job for one person with hand tools.

Skunk2 and GS coilover sleeves are completely different from Tein.
Anyway if you want a good full coilover system, i'd suggest Koni's full coilover system...I believe you can have them revalve the shocks to work better with a custom spring rate that you choose so that they don't blow out if you get some really stiff springs. They are also cheaper than Tein's basic coilover system. Tein is good, but i think overpriced because they are JDM and i wouldn't recommed using them in the winter either...that goes for all coilover though, it's not worth the risk. I've ran coilovers through one winter, with lots of anti seize aplied on them and had no problems, however it's better to change to stock. |
