Oil troubles

I need some help. My oil light flickered today a few times today. I changed the oil 2 weeks ago. I checked the oil and added a quart on Friday.

I checked it today, and it was a half quart low. SO I added a 2 quarts. SO in 2 weeks I burned 4 qts of oil. What is going on?

Check for leaks...your oil drain/plug could be stripped.

I have the same problem as you, and my pan leaks b/c the drain plug is stripped....i've replaced the plug and it's better now, but it still leaks.

If no leaks, then i guess your car burns oil bad. If you rev the egine high all the time, your engine will burn more oi.

Exclamation oil leak...

Agreed. Also check if oil is leaking from inside the timing belt cover. That could be cam/crankshaft seals leak. If oil's coming from top above the block, could be rocker cover or distributor O-ring. if leaks between tranny and engine, that's engine rear main seal.
Depends on mileage and running condition, Honda engines tends to burn some oil above 200,000 kms... oil control rings could be seized. Hope u solved this soon!

you don't even have to look under your car... here is a fast way to check...

just check the spot where you usually park everyday(if you don't have the usual parking spot, check under the car/hood)... if there's oil where you park, it's leaking somewhere obviously... if no oil, your burning oil... have someone to rev up your car and you'll know when it's burning oil...

good luck...

let's say we determine it's burnin oil. I am tryin to hold this motor over until I get a swap. I was thinkin of getting engine restore or Slik50 or something. Not sure what to do b4 havin to either tear it down

best way to solve the problem is not to drive it 'til you have the cash to do a motor swap... you don't want your car get towed...

but this is just what I would do...

be safe

No additives like that crap!!!! Just maybe switch to a heavier weight oil... did you put in synthetic oil by any chance? Oh... Lucas oil stabilizer is good...

You can try to go down on the viscocity level of oil your using. Go a bit thicker. Also check your oil cap, same thing happened to me and I checked and I lost the o-ring on it some how and the oil was slipping out of the cap as pressure increased. The other suggestions have been mentioned already like the drainage nut. You can even check your oil filter, maybe it's a bit loose and oil is slipping out. If everything's fine then check your head gasket.
