offsets? wat the... help with rims fitment
hey might get some 17 inch rims
for my 97 sedan im not lowered right now...but wondering if the rims will give me a problem .... or if they will give me a problem when i lower about 1.5 eventually? 17inch rims 205/40/17 are the tires with a 38 offset i belive? so ya...if u could help me out tell me wat will happen with these on my car that would be great thx pplz triz |
If you do put them on without lowering your car will look worse than before. You will have a huge gap inbetween your tire and wheel well.

the gap will be bigger then it is now with stock steelis and tires than with bigger rims and tires????
waa dhey bumba?????? anways, not concerned with looks at this point in time...just concerened if its gonna work out or not |
when I first was looking for 17 inch rims 4 or 5 years ago, I called tire rack, discount tire, enkei, and konig... and I asked what offset I needed for my car. I got answeres from 38 mm to 42 mm. From experience, the higher numbers are a little safer bets. 38 is iffy, but 1.5" drop doesn't put you at huge risk. Check PM on how to test clearance under susp load

I got the same tires as you with same offset.
There is slight occasional rubbing in my rear passenger tire on sharp corners. When I dropped 1.5", the suspension was stiffer so the rubbing didn't go away but didn't get worse either. |
Yup even without lowering a get a bit of rubbing in the rear passenger side with Rims and tires exactly the same size as yours on my sedan. Not sure what my offset is though
