I would think the OEM battery would be the best choice based only on the fact your a OEM parts freak . The Parkway discount would make it a cheap replacement also.

When my battery died I personally went with the motomaster 72 because of the warrenty and road side assistance they offer.

It is my understanding that an Optima 51R Yellow Top goes right in no mod necessary.

Is this information correct?

Well the only battery I have ever bought was the Motomaster 72 and I haven't had any problem with the new one I just purchased but it's only been in my car for a few months. I bought the car with the same battery and it was toast after 2 years but I wasn't sure how new it was to begin with.
Hope this helps lol

whoa.... Aaron, the Honda OEM battery should last for about 7-10 years. My Civic is going on 5+ years now with it's OEM installed Panasonic... I told myself I'd never install anything other than a Panasonic OEM - but I'm told they don't exist in North America (my car was built in Japan). Anyways, I recently purchased an Optima red top for my Samurai, which then kicked the bucket so it needs an engine swap.... and it left the battery for my Saturn. Anyways, the battery is AWESOME and if I had to replace the Civic battery anytime, I'd replace it with a yellow top or red top. Quick tip - $178 I think gets you either a yellow or red top (your choice) at Price Club/Costco!! That's where I got mine.

bbarbulo it depends on how often it's boosted the more it's boosted the less it lives....

gatherer, you mean discharged past 75% full - the lead "sponge" in starter batteries breaks down and collapses to the bottom - deep cycel batteries don't use a sponge, but they use plates which makes it a better battery for >75% discharge, but it produces less CCA.

loudsubz, I was shocked to find they were both the same price.... at least they were when I was buying them - I just bought the red top cuz at the time I didn't know what exactly a deep cycle battery was.... then I did some reasearch and found out
