OBD1 Engine Light Woes...
My check engine light is staying on. I did the paperclip shorting of the two service wires, and the light flashed as follows:
Blink Blink Blink Blink Blink Blink Blink Blink Blink (pause)
Meaning "9": CYP Sensor (Cylinder)
defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor
Then Long pause and
Blink (Pause) "1"
Blink Blink Blink Blink Blink (Pause) "5"
Code "15": Meaning:
Ignition Output Signal
missing or defective ignition output signal.
Do honda ecu's ever flash in not necessarily the proper order? I mean, couldn't I be confusing these codes as 91 and 5 instead of 9 and 15?
Regardless, anyone have any suggestions or advice on how to fix these problems?
Thanks.

sound like the dizzy is on it's way out.
follow testing procedure for each of the sensors, and test wire continuity to the ECU. clean connecors and apply dielectric grease. replace as necessary.

your right
The CYP sensor has no resistance value (instead of the recommended like 400 ohms). The other two sensors in the disatributer are in spec. I guess I have to buy a new distributer, since this sensor, unlike the others, is recommended by the service manuals to replace the "distributor housing", meaning the whole distributer!
