O2 sensor question
Does a wideband O2 sensor replace the factory?? and when connected does it connect to the factory harness? I havent been successful in getting my VX O2 to work after i swapped with a ZC vtec motor with p28 ecu any suggestions?

well most wideband o2's have narrowband output capabilities. The PLX M-300 i am currently using does. Which means that i am using it as my only o2 sensor because it has narrowband output capabilities.
The PLX's o2 sensor is a 6 wire which connects to the controller box/display which then sends either a wideband or narrowband output signal to the ecu. All you do is cut the signal wire coming from the factory o2 (pin d14 at the ecu) and attach either the grey wire (narrowband output) or the white wire (wideband output) to the ecu. A p28 cannot accept a wideband signal, so your 5 wire VX wideband o2 will not work with a p28. You need to use a 4 wire o2. Or run the stock vx ecu and just chip it and mod it to run vtec. But IMO it would be easier to get a 4 wire o2. |
thanks for the help
