Not really performance but.... wheel/tire/rim question

Hello,

This is regarding my friend's 2001ish Civic Si Coupe.

I have some 225/55R16 winter shoes. I am looking for some steelies to slap them on to mount on the Si. Is that possible? What should I be looking for? 16x7? Thx!

You may run into problems with rubbing. 225 is really wide for a civic. They may fit if your friend's ride is not lowered, but if it is lowered, it won't fit at all. Also I must mention that 225/55/16 is way too big profile tire for a civic.

Also in the winter you want to run thinner tires, not wider ones. Thinner tires cut through the snow. I have 185's for my winters, in the summer I have 205's, and stock is 195. I even had rubbing issues with 205's, so chances are, that the tires won't fit.

I wouldn't even bother trying to put those tires on. If you do get them on, you'd probably need a good amount of negative camber to prevent rubbing.

Thanks for the reply! I found a set of rubber+tires for a decent price.... but they seem quite large.

205/55R16

How about these on the Civic?

Is the bolt pattern correct? What should I be looking for? THank you.

//edit:

How about these?

195/60/15 Bolt Pattern: 5 X 100

Thanks!

5x100 is a Subaru pattern, I don't think it will fit a Civic.

As for snow tires, you are suppose to down size, and go with a narrorwer tire, not wider and bigger.

01 Civic should come with 15" wheel, so 14" steelie with 185 snow will do the work.

205/55/16 is an Accord/TSX snow tire size. Of course, it is only recommended, not set in the stone.

Thank you! I suppose I should be looking for 4x100.

I'm just looking for a good deal on snow shoes. Thanks!
