is this normal?

hey guys just did my valve adjustment on my 00 civic sir(b16a2), but now when i rev it up (high rpm) i smell raw gas. did i adjust them wrong? i adjusted the intake valves at 0.006 and the exhaust valves at 0.007. the way i did them were so that the intake valve could fit 0.006 with drag but couldn't fit the 0.007 , and the exhaust valves so the fit 0.007 with drag but not 0.008 some one on the form says thats the way to do it just want to confirm it. but it runs ok but felt better and more power before. if any one can help with this it would great.
thanks

If Im unsure of a valve adjustment I double check, but it still sounds unrelated.
