Noob Question about Spring with Struts

First mod on my recently acquired 98 lx will be springs. Going with some Tein STechs and not sure about shox, so I need some help.

I got a lead on SIR shocks, and I'm thinking about doing the whole thing at once, teins and SIR shocks.

My question is are the SIR shocks any different from my OEM shocks, already on the car. (Car has 300k, and shocks, I think are still original)

Am I upgrading/downgrading by putting in the SIR shox, or should I just skip the shock altogether, and stay with what's already on now?

I will do the springs for sure, but I'm not 100% about changing the struts. Any advice?

BTW, not noticing any clunking/banging from the suspension now. If that makes a difference.

lx to SiR shocks is an upgrade but in my books it's not a major upgrade....if you wanna do sumthing, do it well the 1st time...SiR shocks with Tein S-tech will be a decent ride for daily driver but not track material....also that combo will not lower the car more than 2 inches

i would go after koni reds for that set up because it is very economical and the product is amazing. stock shocks wotn ride nearly as good as upghraded aftermarket

Thanks for the feedback so far.

95civic - I don't think I'd want to go any lower than 2 inches, seeing as I use this car as a daily and will drive it in the winter. As far as tracking the car, it's not in plans.

Basically I want a lower, comfortable ride. I hate having a huge wheel/fender gap, and the stance on a lowered car, looks refreshing.

As far as the koni red's go, how is the dampening and how harsh is the ride. I don't want to compromise ride comfort too much...
