Non-VTEC ECU and engine mods

Who knows how to modify an LX ECU and engine to give more performance and speed?
I heard someone in this club knows how to chip the ECU.

Anyone have any suggestions? Its a 1995 Civic LX

I'm not considering an engine swap at the moment, I wanna see what I can do with a non vtec engine.

Hope you guyz can help!!

in all honesty.. you won't do much.... what you should look at doing is a v-tec conversion... swap on the vtec head ... you'll be looking at about 20-25 more hp ...and that's more than you'll get with the i/h/e.... it'll probably cost about the same too...

just my 2 cents

More speed is easy, just remove the limiter. More performance however isn't gonna work. The ECU doesn't make power, it only controls it. If you want more power you need to start at the source, and that's the engine itself. Save your money for a swap, if money is tight then do a mini-me and a small shot of NOS and pray it holds out until you can afford a real engine.

That's what I thought, if you wanna get power, you gotta change the engine and there's no other way out.

How much would a VTEC head cost? Would I just swap the heads and that's it? or do I need something more? I know I'll need a VTEC ECU to control the VTEC solenoid.

I would like to know as well. I'm interested in how this works. A nice 20 - 25hp sounds plenty for me.
