Noise above 90km/h

OK

I have a pesky annoying light squeaking noise coming from my front end.

It only squeaks above 90km/h and gets more noticeable at 120km/h. It's not constant and isn't affected by engine speed just by travelling speed.

I'm thinking suspension area. Ie. bushings, etc? I heard bad bushings before and they made noise at all speeds.

I'm just kinda stumped on this one.

My vehicle spec's

2000 Civic SiR with about 115k on the od.

Are you sure it's from the frontend and not just like the front of the dash or something?
Just thinking maby you have a bit of a wheel misballance and it's causing you dash to squeek or something?

it's been a while since I checked a balljoint.

**edited

Nevermind. I found the way to check it out in another recent post.

If it's a whirling noise it's bearings.

Thanks for the tips. I'm going to check more into it early this week.

I have to install some snow tires , adjust my p-brake (right side not holding), and check both front ball joints.

Sounds like I'm going to have a busy night coming up soon. I'm glad I have access to a shop.

put a LONG screwdriver up to either spindle, as near as you can to the drive shaft (BE CAREFUL) get somone else to throw the car into 5 gear and take the car to the speed you are hearing noises at... then put your ear to the end of the screw driver handle.. and compare both sides... if you hear one making noise and the other NOT.. then you ahve a wheelbearing problem!

I'd have to agree with wheel bearings.

Yeah I'm starting to think wheel bearing.

I just ended up just installing my x-ices and an oil change last week. At least now I can rule out unbalanced wheels.

Since I have the honda plus extended warranty it SHOULD be covered. Now I just have to see if it's worth it with a $50 dec. and whatever other fee the dealership would like to charge vs doing the job myself.
